Books and Reading

Books

I love books in general. In particular, I like old reference books for my genealogy hobby. And in spite of all the new technology, I still think good old books may just outlive them all.

So I also have an interest in book scanning. To keep my shelves from overflowing, I have started to scan many of the genealogy periodicals I receive. And for the older books, I build a non-destructive book scanner. Here are some links related to book scanning:

Reading

It is probably not surprising that I like to read. Although I do find myself taking more time to pick the books into which I want to invest my time. I just don’t have a lot of time left over to indulge myself.

Killing Jesus: A History
4 of 5 stars

Killing Kennedy: The End of Camelot
4 of 5 stars
A good solid review of the events and some insight into the people. Probably nothing new for those deep into the JFK story. But it is good for someone looking for a quick read about the subject without all the conspiracy theories boggi…
Apollo 13
5 of 5 stars
This book takes you right back to Apollo 13. Reliving it minute by minute, it makes you feel like you are there. It is still amazing even after seeing the movie (which took a few liberties).
