      Services for H.B. Ramsour Jr., 100, of Dallas, TX, are scheduled for 2:00pm Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Eubank Funeral Chapel with Rev. Larry Ramsour officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Burial will be in Haven of Memories, Canton, TX.
      Another service for Dr. Ramsour will be held at First Baptist Church of Blanco, Texas, on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 10 am.
      He passed away May 28, 2011 in Dallas, TX. Dr. Ramsour was born January 11, 1911 in Palestine, TX, to Hilery Benton Ramsour Sr. and Mamie Lee Cook Ramsour.
      Dr. H. B. Ramsour, President Emeritus of the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary, now the Baptist University of the Americas, in San Antonio, TX, served as the President of the school from 1960 to 1976. Prior to assuming that position he had served twenty-one years as a missionary of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in Japan, Argentina and Hawaii. Earlier he was pastor in Comanche, Oklahoma and Fort Worth, Texas, and taught high school English in Miles, Texas. A native of Palestine, Texas, he is a graduate of Howard Payne University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received an A. B. from Howard Payne and later was awarded a Doctor of Divinity. At Southwestern he earned a Master of Theology and a Doctor of Theology degrees. His mission activities and denominational responsiblities have carried him to more than half of the states and a dozen foreign countries.
      Surviving are wife, Violet E. Ramsour of Blanco, TX, son, David and Carol Ann Ramsour of Dallas, TX, daughter, Carolyn and Don Mosley of Comer, GA, daughter, Jeanne Horne of Honolulu, HI, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
