      Couple shares a common headstone. Louis W. Eckermann, born 19 Mar 1831, died 26 Sep 1913. Scharlotte L. Eckermann, born 10 May 1840, died 07 Mar 1933.

      On page 16 states Louis was born in 1831 in Schaumburg, came to Galveston from the village called Ulzburg in 1854 on the ship "Hampden". The family lived in the Industry, Texas area. Book includes a picture of Louis W. and Louise Eckermann. On page 55 states Louis W. was born March 19, 1831, arrived at Galveston April 1, 1854, married Louise Charlotte Henriette Meier in 1860.

      Source given as church records of the village Westerwald (found at the Lutheran Church in Hattendorf, Schaumburg-Lippe, Germany.) The village of Westerwald, county Schaumburg, state of Hessen is today known as Westerwald, county of Schaumburg-Lippe, state of Lower Saxony. Westerwald is located between Hanover and Miden and is on the south slope of the Buckeburg (Bucke Mountains). Godfather listed as Ludwig Grupe. Louis married Scharlotte in 1860. States that according to the "Naturalization Records of Austin, Guadeloupe (sic) and Washington Counties, Texas" by Addison Oates, Louis W. Eckermann became a citizen of America on 25 Sep 1865.
