Books
I love books in general. In particular, I like old reference books for my genealogy hobby. And in spite of all the new technology, I still think good old books may just outlive them all.
Scanning
But, books and reference periodicals take up a lot of space. I really don’t like handling my older genealogy books more than necessary. And it is convenient to have digital versions. So I also have an interest in book scanning. To keep my shelves from overflowing, I have started to scan many of the genealogy periodicals I receive. And for the older books, I build a non-destructive book scanner. Here are some links related to book scanning:
Reading
It is probably not surprising that I like to read. Although I do find myself taking more time to pick the books into which I want to invest my time. I just don’t have a lot of time left over to indulge myself.

Recently read books
This is pretty much just the facts as they are known. It is is still pretty powerful. I did like getting a good general historical perspective to what was going on in the area before and during the time of Jesus. And some of the details…
A good solid review of the events and some insight into the people. Probably nothing new for those deep into the JFK story. But it is good for someone looking for a quick read about the subject without all the conspiracy theories boggi…
This book takes you right back to Apollo 13. Reliving it minute by minute, it makes you feel like you are there. It is still amazing even after seeing the movie (which took a few liberties).
