A resident of Coconut Creek, FL, where he enjoyed the warm sunny weather of FL with his beloved wife, Dianne. He worked for Hollywood Hills High School as a Guidance Counselor and before moving to FL. He also worked for Bethel Park High School in PA and was a Director of Keystone Oaks School Board in Dormont, PA. He is survived by his wife, Dianne O'Neil; three sons, Patrick O'Neil (Lisa) of W. Palm Beach, John O'Neil of Boca Raton, Robert O'Neil of W. Palm Beach, a daughter, Beth King (Robert) of PA; mother, Gertrude Hatalsky; sister, Sharlene and husband, Fred Steiner, Canonsburg, PA; and four grandchildren, Frank, Shannon, Joseph and Dane. The family will receive friends Tues., April 23, 3-4 & 6-8pm and Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8pm at the KRAEER FUNERAL HOME. The Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 25, at Our Lady Queen of Apostle Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach followed by interment in Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atty: Barry Eisenson, 4953 Coconut Creek Parkway, Cocunut Creek, FL 33063 to be donated to Hollywood Hills High School Scholarship Fund in memory of John O'Neil. A Tribute to Our Friend Jack Loving Husband of Dianne Orenyak O'Neil We're very sad to report that John "Jack" O'Neil of Coconut Creek, FL passed away on Sunday, April 21. He suffered a stroke the week prior to his death. Unfortunately, we will no longer enjoy the hot Marco Island sun and drink margaritas on the beach during sundown with our good friend Jack. We won't laugh at his goofy jokes, we won't hear that Canonsburg twang when he talks, we won't sip Irish coffee with him in the condo, and we won't meet him and Dianne for dinner at "Tin City" in Naples. Our hearts are heavy because we'll miss him but we know that it was a rare gift to know this man, to tell him we loved him, and call him our friend. Jack was a good man - he never talked about the fact that he touched so many people in many different ways. Whether he was functioning as a teacher, a school board member, or a guidance counselor, he helped hundreds of "his kids" in those school districts because he was a committed educator. He was greatly missed by the students and his colleagues when he retired from Hollywood Hills High School this past December. He was devoted to his wife Dianne and never had a problem letting everyone know that he adored her and would do anything for her. He fell in love with this cute little nurse more than 40 years ago and courted her until she gave-in and married him. They were perfect for each other - both of them caring, loving, and kind. Together they successfully raised four children; a daughter (Beth), and three sons ( Patrick, Johnny, & Robbie). Their children and four grandchildren (Frankie, Shannon, Joseph, & Dane) clearly were the center of his universe. He talked about them with love and affection in his eyes and voice - they were all very special to him. George C. Scott once said that, "The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it". Jack's spirit will live with us forever because we have wonderful memories of our great times together. When we think of him we'll often laugh, and sometimes we'll cry, but most of the time we'll remember his "gift" to us - just to have known him. See you on the other side buddy! - Irene Sherman Campano
