      Mitchell Lee Pawlik was born on September 27, 1949 to Stanley and Justina (Brysch) Pawlik of George West, Texas. He was the youngest of six children. He left this world on July 20, 2010 after a long illness.
      He was preceded in death by by his parents, one brother George Pawlik, one sister, Grace McCann, two brothers-in-law Henry Lyssy and Art Stearns.
      He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Debby; one son, Jarret (Jennifer Griffin) Pawlik; one brother, Leonard (Betty) Pawlik, all of George West, Texas; two sisters, Aggie Lyssy of San Antonio, and Gladys Stearns of Janesville, Wisconsin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Pawlik of George West, Texas, Mark Smith and Terry (Debbie) Smith all of Simmons, Texas, Ted (Judy) Troell, William Smith and Amy Smith all of George West, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews.
      Mitchell was a lifelong member of St. George Catholic Church of George West, Texas. He graduated from George West High School in 1968. He attended Texas A & I University at Kingsville, Texas. He graduated from the Texas Game Warden Academy in 1973 and served as a Texas Game Warden for 30 years. He retired from service on August 31, 2005.
      After retirement he settled in LaPara, Texas where he pursued his interest in ranching.
      Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the home of Willie Smith, Highway 281 North ' Smith RV and continue there Friday, July 24, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at St. George Catholic Church, George West, Texas with a mass being celebrated there at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, with Msgr. Michael Howell, celebrant. Interment will follow at George West Cemetery.
      Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the George West Library or any wildlife charity or organization of choice.
