Robert "Cookie" was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Portland, Ore. He was raised in Scappoose, Ore., along with his brothers James and Kenneth "Julio" Shields. He bravely served his country in Vietnam. He was a passionate Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycle enthusiast. As a skilled mechanic, he built his own custom chopper trike. He loved riding on the open road and sharing stories about his collection of bikes and classic cars. He also enjoyed using his expertise in welding and metal work to create beautiful art.

Robert "Cookie" was a unique man. A father, brother and son, he touched all those who were honored to know him. A true friend to so many and generous beyond words. Although he is gone, he will remain forever within us all. He was a magnificent gladiator and hero to the end.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Barbara.

He is survived by his children Denise Jackson, Noel Shields and Amber Hogg, brother Kenneth "Julio" Shields and father James Shields.
