      Monroe I. Roemisch was born on Dec. 24, 1917 to Joe and Anna (Koepp) Roemisch in Guadalupe County, Texas. He passed away in New Braunfels, Texas on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at the age of 93. Monroe is preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Altwein Roemisch and brother, Nelson J. Roemisch. He is survived by his wife, Vivian J. Ott of New Braunfels; son, Gary Wayne Roemisch and Shirley Padalecki of San Antonio, Texas; Step-Children, Linda Printy and Mike Sanderford, David Ott and wife, Melissa and Betty Gibson and Shane Salmon; Grandsons, Jarred Wayne Roemisch and Juston Scott Roemisch; five step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Logan, Colby and Ethan; three step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy E. Roemisch and Lorene Reichter and husband, Ray and brother-in-law, Buddy Zimmermann. Monroe was a member of the American Legion Post #179, Hermann Sons and the Masons. He was a U.S. Army Veteran discharged with the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star, Victory Ribbon and three overseas service bars.
      Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. (with the family receiving family and friends from 5-7 p.m.) on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Carse officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are with: Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home.
