He was born on July 25, 1941 in St. Hedwig, TX to Marvin and Viola Penshorn, who preceded him in death. Leroy married Leona Triesch on April 29, 1961 in New Braunfels, TX, and they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this past year. Leroy and Leona were the founders of Penshorn’s Meat Market in Marion, TX in 1972, and had recently retired. Leroy is survived by his wife Leona; his daughter Debbie Babcock and husband John of Houston, TX; his sons Elroy and wife Rosalind, and Robert and wife Kimberly both of Marion, TX; six grandchildren, Heath and Luke Schneider, Brett and Morgan Penshorn, Garrett and Devan Penshorn; brother Jimmy Penshorn and wife Jerry of Marion, TX; sisters Lorene Howell of Clovis, CA, Carolyn Abel of New Braunfels, TX, Irene Haecker and husband Arthur of Marion, TX, and Betty Kriewald and husband Gerald also of Marion, TX; plus numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Marion, TX on Saturday, October 29 at 10 a.m. with Pastor James Witschorke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society or St. Johns Lutheran Church.
