Marville (Ray) Haney, age 70, of San Antonio, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 70. Ray was full of love, and demonstrated his God-loving spirit to the end. He was happy that his wife of 30 years didn't have to experience his painful death. Ray was an unselfish man. After attending San Antonio Tech, he entered the Navy, where he served as torpedoman. He returned to San Antonio afterwards. Ray loved cars, classic trucks, country music, and wrestling. He retired from Terminix in 1998. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mildred. He loved her beyond words. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Lillian and his brother, Paul. He is survived by his children, Kay Lynn Cole and husband Michael, Franklin N. Edwards III and wife Cynthia; brother, Michael and wife Virginia, sister, Pat; several grandchildren, Elliot Cole of Virginia, Cassandra and Jacqueline of McAllen, Alyssa, Brook and Evan of California (and their mother, Selina), and several nieces and nephews. Ray was grateful to his nurses, Martha Trevino, Yolanda (Elia) Quintanilla, and Yolanda Roberts of McAllen; Dr. Luis Arango of McAllen gave Ray and his wife the best medical care in the world. Ray loved his home, Paramount Rehabilitation, and those that cared for him including Melissa, Barbie, Randy, Natasha, Lindy and Mary Ann. The family would like to thank Odyssey Healthcare of San Antonio and Dr. Michael Cole, his son-in-law, who welcomed Ray into his home and cared for him the last three years.
