      Funeral arrangements are complete at Zoeller Funeral Home for Gilbert B. Ward of New Braunfels.
      He was born February 18, 1920 to William and Ida Krueger Ward in Converse Texas.
      He married Eltha Zuercher on May 3, 1941 in Cibolo, Texas.  Mr. Ward served in the US Army during WWII in 382nd Antiaircraft Battalion as a Military Policeman.  
      He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7110, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2999, Germania Farmer Verein – Anhalt, Comal County Fair Association, Texas Farm Bureau, Grand Lodge of the Order of Sons of Hermann – Albert Kypfer Lodge #106, Comal County Senior Citizen Foundation, life member of Bracken Bowling Club, life member Cibolo Bowling Club, life member Solms Bowling Club, Mission Valley Bowling Club, Life member of Bracken Fire Department and member of Geronimo Fire Department.  
      Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister Gladys Ward Blashchke and a daughter-in-law Carlene Parsley Ward.  
      He is survived by his wife of 72 years Eltha Zuercher Ward of New Braunfels; son Edward Lee Ward and wife Thelma Pape Ward of San Antonio, Texas, granddaughter Amy L. Ward Nickson and husband Freddie of Schertz Texas; great-grandchildren Isliana Jimenez of Live Oak, Texas, Zachary Jimenez of Schertz, Texas, Freddie Nickson of Schertz, Texas; granddaughter Lisa L. Ward Hutchens and husband John of Schertz, Texas; great-grandson Ian P. Hutchens of Schertz, Texas; Daughter Sharon Kay Ward Hofferichter and husband William (Bill) Hofferichter of Floresville, Texas; grandson Philip N. Hofferichter and wife Jennifer, great-grandson Clayton M. Hofferichter of Jourdanton, Texas; granddaughter LeAnne E. Tieken and husband Matthew, Great-Grandson Tanner C. Tieken of Floresville, Texas; foster daughter Betty Puckett Sippel and husband David of Garden Ridge, Texas; grandson Jared Sippel and wife Brandi of Washington DC; niece Cindy Blaschke Fischer and nephew Jerry Blaschke.  
      The family would like to thank Dr. Alexander Zweibach and Staff at South Texas Cancer Center, New Braunfels and the staff at Nurses in Touch Community Hospice of Floresville, and Caring Senior Service of New Braunfels who too took such excellent are of him.  
      Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home.  
      Funeral services will be Friday, June 21, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Grace Memorial Church with burial to follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. 
      In lieu of flowers memorials may be giving to Grace Memorial Church 3240 FM 725, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 or Nurses In Touch Community Hospice 1815 10th St. Floresville, Texas 78114.
