1. Benito Lopez died about 1888. Notes:
BIOGRAPHY: Benito was a cartman in the 1850's and met his future wife while transporting the Opiela family from Indianola to panna Maria. Benito Lopez receieved a land grant from the state of Texas as a citizen of the Republic of Texas prior to his marriage to Carolina. He was in business in San Antonio in the 1860's, and later in Floresville. He had a pawn shop and general store which had merchandise ranging from a can of sardines to ladies' boots from Italy. He was the owner of the first two story brick building in Floresville.
Benito married Carolina Opiela on 29 Jun 1862. Carolina (daughter of Mikolaj "Nicolaus" Opiela and Josapha Honza) was born on 22 Jan 1837 in Rosenberg Kreis, , Prussia; died on 2 Sep 1917 in Floresville, Wilson Co., Texas; was buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Floresville, Wilson Co., Texas.
